– Realmente foi uma partida muito ruim no contexto geral, o que a gente projetou para o jogo não conseguimos executar, inclusive pelas mudanças de trazer velocidades pelos lados, tentar explorar e abrir campo. O adversário fez um bom jogo e explorou as transições que era um recurso que sabíamos que iria usar, criou situações, conseguiu gols. Resultado muito ruim, jogo muito ruim, mas a competição nos permite pensar em reconstruir para reverter em casa. Temos condições, capacidade para isso, mas é muito difícil. Sabemos das dificuldades, o que não temos que fazer e ser melhor em casa – destacou Fernando em entrevista coletiva após a partida.

Mesmo com o revés, o duelo contra o Leão marcou duas estreias: a do jovem Pedro, de 17 anos, como titular, e os primeiros minutos do recém-contratado Chrystian Barletta com a camisa corintiana. O primeiro foi substituído no intervalo, para a entrada de Róger Guedes, já o segundo entrou aos 27 minutos do segundo tempo, na vaga de Giuliano.- Pedro participou bem do jogo, buscou, se movimentou, o que a gente espera. Atleta de jogada aberta, velocidade, agudo, participou bem da primeira parte – destacou Lázaro.

– Não é a estreia que a gente imaginava (para o Chrystian Barletta), mas era a característica que pensamos no jogo. Característica pessoal, ataca bem o espaço. Entendemos que era o que precisávamos para o jogo. Fez uma boa competição, bom estadual, está se ambientando. Natural o timing da estreia, não era o cenário ideal, mas era o que o jogo pedia. Mas temos confiança no atleta até em cenários difíceis. O atleta entrou, não se omitiu e apresentou o que esperávamos – acrescentou o treinador corintiano.

Antes da volta contra o Remo, o Timão tem outros três compromissos, dois pelo Brasileirão (Cruzeiro e Goiás) e um pela Libertadores (Argentinos Juniors). O primeiro deles será contra a Raposa, neste domingo (16), em Itaquera, pela primeira rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro.

– Pensar no próximo jogo para lá na frente conseguir a possibilidade de reversão de um resultado adverso que a gente permitiu que o resultado fosse contundente – ressaltou Fernando Lázaro.

O Corinthians tenta superar a marca negativa da eliminação precoce no Campeonato Paulista pelo Ituano, em março, e da perda do meia Renato Augusto, com uma lesão no joelho direito e que desfalcará o Coringão por até dois meses.

“About Bumrah, I’m not too sure at the moment, of course for the first two Test matches he’s not going to be available,” Rohit said after India swept New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series. “I’m expecting that; not expecting but hoping he plays the next two Test matches but again we don’t want to take any risk with him. India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, who has tracked Rohit’s career from his Under-19 days, had praised about Rohit’s evolution as an ODI batter on the eve of the third ODI.”He has been a phenomenal cricketer, and I think he obviously started off as this really precocious talent,” Dravid said. “I remember seeing him for the first time when he was 17 or 18 – [he] just came out of Under-19s – and you could see that you’re looking at something slightly different here. And he has gone on to prove that. You look at a lot of kids who look different at 19 but not all of them go onto actually achieve their potential. What Rohit has done over the last 15 years I think now has actually changed his potential and he’s been a great servant for Indian cricket and has done really well.”Maybe, like you said, the turning point was when ten years ago he got the opportunity to finally open. Glamorgan’s bowlers fought their way back into this game, dismissing Sussex for 203 as the home side finished with a lead of 85 and 10 second-innings wickets standingA first-innings lead of 39 could be crucial in a low-scoring contest. Australian leg spinner Mitch Swepson took the last two wickets in two balls to wrap things up, finishing with 3 for 52, while seamer James Harris returned figures of 3 for 38.Sussex had started the day in a strong position on 65 for 1, but lost both not-out batters before a run had been added, with Fynn Hudson-Prentice then holding the innings together in scoring only the second half century of the match.When he went for 59, the rest of the Sussex innings folded.
