أوضح الألماني يورجن كلوب، المدير الفني لليفربول سبب استبدال محمد صلاح في مباراة الفريق أمس أمام تشيلسي بالدوري الإنجليزي.

وقام كلوب باستبدال مزدوج، حيث أخرج صلاح وجونز ودفع بجوتا وتشامبرلين في الدقيقة 61، في مباراة حسمها تشيلسي بالفوز بهدف دون رد.

وقال كلوب في تصريحات لـ”سكاي سبورتس”: “رغبت في تنشيط الملعب بلاعبين جدد، بدا محمد صلاح وكأنه يعاني اليوم قليلاً، ولعب الكثير من المباريات، كان بإمكاني استبدال ماني أو فيرمينو وهذا واضح تمامًا”.

وأكمل مدرب ليفربول موضحًا: “ولكن في تلك اللحظة بدا أنه ينبغي استبدال صلاح، كذلك قررت إشراك ميلنر لإيقاظ الفريق قليلاً والحفاظ على التوازن”.

وأردف كلوب: “لقد بدا صلاح محبطًا، هذه ليست مشكلة، كان بإمكاني تغيير الآخرين، لكنه بدا وكأنه شعر بحدة المباراة، ولم أرغب في المخاطرة به، لقد عرفته منذ فترة طويلة وهو عادة ما يبدو منتعشًا، وهذه كانت علامة على عدم المخاطرة به”.

Leeds United are thought to have rejected an offer of around £27m for Kalvin Phillips during the summer transfer window, according to a report by Football Insider.

Although no club has been named, it is said the offer for the defensive midfielder would have been made up of additional add-ons and bonuses.

Indeed, Phillips has just signed a new five-year deal to remain at Elland Road, although it is understood that a release clause of between £20m and £25m was inserted, should the club fail to win promotion to the Premier League this season.

Phillips has been an instrumental figure for Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa over the last year or so and has been nothing but impressive for the Whites with his performances on the field.

Having recorded statistical data such as an average of 4.7 tackles (in which he leads the rest of the squad), 1.3 interceptions and 1.8 clearances this season (WhoScored), he has been steadily building on the previous campaign’s impressive averages of 2.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 2.6 clearances, 0.6 key passes and a passing success rate of 82.1%.

Indeed, it is no surprise that there were clubs interested in signing the 23-year-old throughout the summer, with Aston Villa having been heavily linked with a potential deal following their promotion to the Premier League.

Although it might not have been a surprise that Leeds rejected an offer in the region of £27m, they may have shot themselves in the foot in regards to getting a figure any higher than that.

As Football Insider recently reported, should Bielsa fail to get the club into the top-flight at the second time of asking, the Elland Road outfit are going to have to accept any offers that come for Phillips at a slightly reduced rate.

Phillips is, undeniably, an important member of the Leeds squad and he will, surely, play a vital role in trying to help the club finally make their return to England’s top division.

It does not come as a surprise to hear that an offer was rejected for one of their top performers, though it could only be a matter of time before the 23-year-old is packing his bags and leaving Elland Road, especially if Bielsa does not get them back to the Premier League.

أكد رونالد كومان المدير الفني لـ برشلونة، أن أي نتيجة في مواجهة الديربي بين ريال مدريد وأتلتيكو مدريد ستكون جيدة للفريق الكتالوني.

برشلونة فاز على أوساسونا (2-0) في منافسات الليجا، وسيواجه ريال مدريد جاره أتلتيكو مدريد مساء الأحد بالدوري الإسباني.

أتلتيكو مدريد متصدر الترتيب بـ58 نقطة، يليه برشلونة بـ56 نقطة، ثم ريال مدريد بـ53 نقطة.

ونشرت صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية تصريحات كومان بعد المباراة وقال: “نعلم أنه ما زال أمامنا نقاط”.

وأضاف: “من المهم ما نقوم به في آخر 14 أو 15 مباراة، نحن نقلص الفارق مع أتلتيكو مدريد خاصة مع نتيجة الليلة، هناك منافسة على الدوري مستمرة حتى نهاية الموسم”.

وعن النتيجة التي ينتظرها من ديربي مدريد، أوضح كومان: “لا أعتقد إنني سأمضي اليوم كله في المنزل، هناك الكثير من المباريات، نحن مهتمون بالتأكيد وأي نتيجة ستكون مناسبة لنا”.

وانتقل كومان للحديث عن فوز برشلونة أمام أوساسونا قائلاً: “نحن بحاجة إلى مواصلة الفوز، لم تكن أفضل مباراة لنا، لكننا كنا جيدين واستحقنا الفوز، أنا سعيد، النتائج الجيدة المتتالية بشكل عام مهمة، نأمل أن نستمر على المسار الصحيح”.

واستطرد: “بذلنا الكثير من الطاقة والجهد، كنا متعبين، لكن المباراة كانت جادة، سجلنا هدفين رائعين، وكان الفريق جادًا ومتحمسًا، رغم أننا لم نلعب بأفضل أداء لدينا”.

وأتم كومان: “التغيير بين شوطي المباراة كان تكتيكيًا، رغم أن أومتيتي كان لديه أيضًا بطاقة صفراء، أعتقد أننا لم نكن في وضع جيد أمام أوساسونا، خلال التكتيك الأول لم يكن لدينا تحكم كافي ومع التغيير اكتسبنا ذلك التحكم”.

Keane’s latest outburst of miserable slander came during an interview with Off The Ball alongside fellow Old Trafford great, Gary Neville.

In keeping with his anti-Ferguson rhetoric, Keane unleashed on the iconic Scot, questioning the extent to which he was truly dedicated to doing what was best for the club. This included accusing him of nepotism and a quip about being “surprised†that his wife didn’t somehow have a role in the club.

Naturally, his comments have created debate amongst the footballing community, and the latest man to involve himself is talkSPORT pundit Ian Holloway…

While we understand Keane’s bitterness towards United derives from his unceremonious exile at the hands of Ferguson, especially for someone who delivered 12 major trophies, character assassination of one of football’s most prized individuals probably isn’t the smartest way to rally support (other than from Holloway, of course).

But when has Keane ever cared about the opinions of sheep?

It really is raining injuries over in the Spanish capital at the moment.

Saying that Real Madrid were quite unlucky with various fitness problems in the last couple of weeks would be an understatement. Currently, there are six players sidelined and unavailable to Zinedine Zidane.

But there were only five until recently when it was officially confirmed that Luka Modric has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the adductor in his right leg as Los Blancos’ streak of bad luck looks to have continued.

And the fans have just about had enough of it, as it seems from their latest social media activity.

Upon learning about the latest injury to their Croatian midfielder, they simply lost it and couldn’t believe this was happening all over again.

They quickly took to Twitter to express their disappointment, anger and sadness as some claimed they were “totally done” and wanted the season restarted.

وردًا على “راموس يرى نفسه يلعب حتى يبلغ من العمر 40 عامًا وحتى مونديال 2026، هل تعتقد أنه قادر على المواصلة حتى سن الأربعين”، أجاب: “هذا ما قاله سيرجيو (يضحك)”.

وأكمل: “راموس لاعب مميز، نيته هذه جيدة بالفعل، لأنه يريد مواصلة اللعب، إذا ظل هكذا يمكنه اللعب حتى يبلغ سن الأربعين”.

وتابع: “لا أريد تفسّير كلام سيرجيو، اللاعب يُقرر متى يريد أنّ يتوقف، ولن أعلق على المزيد”.

وأتم تصريحاته بالحديث عن تجديد عقد راموس قائلًا: “لا أعرف ماذا سيحدث، نريد أنّ يستمر سيرجيو هُنا، إنه لاعب مهم بالنسبة لنا في ريال مدريد، وكمدرب لا يسعني إلا أن أقول إنني أريده أن يواصل اللعب”.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Paul Scholes has insisted Manchester United losing Paul Pogba wouldn’t be a “big loss”.

What did he say?

The France World Cup winner was the subject of intense transfer speculation over the course of the summer transfer window, but a move to either Real Madrid or Juventus failed to materialise.

Since then, the midfielder has been caught up in the Red Devils’ penalty controversy at Wolves, and received criticism from some quarters over his below-par performances.

Now, Scholes has said if United were to lose him in the future, there would be players capable of stepping up to the plate.

He said: “I think it’s quite clear he wants to leave the club. He wanted to move to Real Madrid (in the summer) and for whatever reason it didn’t happen. If they ask him to stay for a year then we’ll see what happens. But I don’t think it will be a big loss to United (if he does go).

“At the end of the day his form hasn’t been great anyway over the last three or three years he’s been there. I’m sure there’s more players there who can step in and do just as good a job.”

Questionable

Having been one of United’s most productive performers last season with 16 goals and 11 assists, for Scholes to suggest Pogba leaving wouldn’t be considered a “big loss” is quite puzzling.

Losing the kind of drama the Frenchman appears to be followed around with off-the-pitch is understandable, but the 26-year-old has been a key performer for the Red Devils since his return from Juventus.

Scholes’ further suggestion that he’s sure the club have more players who can “step in and do just as good a job” is incredibly short-sighted too. If there are, then why haven’t they been given a chance yet?

The likes of Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have had plenty of opportunities to turn to other players in the first-team squad or even the academy. Instead, Pogba has remained a cornerstone of the United midfield, and that perhaps says it all.

واختتم: “الطقس في الكونغو متقلب، وأرضية ملعب المباراة من النجيل الصناعي، وتم الموافقة على خوض الأهلي تدريبين على ملعب المباراة حتى يتأقلموا عليها”.

ويلتقي الأهلي مع فيتا كلوب الكونغولي عصر بعد غد الثلاثاء في الجولة الرابعة لدور المجموعات ببطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

أفادت تقارير صحفية إسبانية، أن الدولي البلجيكي إيدين هازارد مهاجم ريال مدريد الإسباني، لن يخضع لعملية جراحية بعد إصابته في الكاحل.

هازارد الذي عاد السبت الماضي خلال مواجهة ريال مدريد ضد إلتشي، وشارك أقل من ربع ساعة، تعرض لإصابة جديدة في الكاحل أعلن عنها النادي الملكي.

صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية، أفادت بأن هازارد لن يخضع إلى جراحة كما كان متوقعًا في الساعات الأخيرة نتيجة إصابته في الكاحل.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن هازارد سافر إلى لندن لزيارة طبيبه الموثوق به، جيمس كالدر، والحصول على رأي ثانٍ حول مشاكله في الكاحل، والتي يبدو أنها سبب إصابات عضلاته المستمرة أيضًا والتي تعرض لها، كان أبرزها في الحوض هذا الموسم.

وشددت الصحيفة بأن هازارد اختار العلاج بدلًا من الجراحة، لمحاولة الوصول إلى المرحلة النهائية من الموسم ويكون جاهزًا للمشاركة في يورو 2020 مع منتخب بلجيكا.

Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie with Reading presents Wolves with an interesting opportunity, even if success in the competition does result in further fixture congestion later down the line.

For most of the squad, they’ve barely had time to rest as pre-season started in China and that was quickly followed by the start of their Europa League qualification campaign – at this stage, many clubs were still taking it easy in the off-season.

Even during the international break, Wolves had several stars away with their respective national sides, so this game against Reading could be ideal in resting some first-teamers.

Raul Jimenez, for example, has looked absolutely knackered in some matches, but that’s no surprise considering he’s played well over 40 games for club and country this calendar year alone.

Here’s a starting XI we suggest manager Nuno Santo should opt for…

Jimenez, as already mentioned, is quite exhausted and shouldn’t be anywhere near this tie along with the likes of Joao Moutinho, Conor Coady, and Diogo Jota.

Nuno should stick with the 3-4-3 formation that looked dangerous against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Patrick Cutrone can come in and lead the line. We’ve documented how he’s looked promising in spells – especially against Chelsea – but he has started just once in the Premier League.

Pedro Neto and Morgan Gibbs-White could occupy the half spaces behind him, drifting wide if need be. The latter coming off against Braga last week hindered their chances of a result despite looking in good form.

Ruben Neves was a surprise name on the bench at Selhurst Park so he should come back in to add some seniority to the lineup – Bruno Jordao is undoubtedly in line for an opportunity after being labelled as a superb technician recently.

Only Matt Doherty remains from the 1-1 draw to Palace as he desperately needs a good showing if he’s to knock Adama Traore off his perch anytime soon.

Ryan Bennett comes back in alongside Jesus Vallejo, Max Kilman and Ruben Vinagre with John Ruddy completing the defence.

This starting XI gives Wolves every chance of progressing, while also providing valuable game time to players that need to make an impact on what will be a long and treacherous season for Wolves.
