Jurgen Klopp has stated it’s likely that Liverpool won’t be bringing in many new signings this summer due to financial difficulty.

According to James Pearce, the German has said a lavish spending spree in the upcoming transfer window is ‘just not possible’. The Premier League champions have been linked to plenty of high profile names, but no talks have come to fruition. One particularly of note is Timo Werner, who looked set to join the Merseyside outfit prior to his move to Chelsea.

Fans have taken to Twitter to air their frustrations over this recent update, as many aren’t happy with their current situation. One supporter has slammed the news for being ’embarrassing’, as they clearly feel a title-winning club should have the funds to recruit this summer.

Another fan has assumed it means ‘so no Thiago’, after Liverpool have been heavily linked to signing the Bayern Munich midfielder (according to Sport, via Metro).

According to recent reports, Leeds are interested in signing QPR starlet Eberechi Eze this summer.

What’s the word?

Eze has been in superb form for the Championship side this season, racking up 14 goals and eight assists in the league. That has prompted speculation he could be heading for the exit door, with reports now suggesting Leeds are keen on having him lead their Premier League return next season.

The Sun have claimed Marcelo Bielsa has identified the 22-year-old as someone who can bring a creative spark to Elland Road, and that the Whites are ready to outbid the likes of Tottenham and West Ham in the race to sign him.

Sterling 2.0

It’s fair to say that Eze has earned a lot of plaudits in his short career as a first-team football for QPR.

Mark Warburton hailed him as a “tremendous talent” who has “no limits” in just how far he can go, whilst the Hoops’ former assistant manager Mark Bircham said: “He goes past players easier than Raheem Sterling did. Sterling would beat players with pace or do a trick or a chop – it’s all dynamic movements, but Ebere Eze just glides past players.”

With Sterling also having come through the QPR academy, that may be a simple comparison to make. But if you dig beneath that, you can see just how comparable the two are.

As per Whoscored, he has averaged a stunning three dribbles per game in the Championship, whilst also attempting 2.2 shots per match too. And with his tally of 14 goals this season, he clearly has the goal-scoring knack that Sterling has developed, with the latter netting 19 in the Premier League for Manchester City.

Speaking about his dribbling ability, Danny Higginbotham remarked: “You would not want him one on one. He has that knack of gliding past players with ease. He has so many assists because he attracts so much attention which creates space for his teammates.”

If Leeds manage to sign him this summer, then they could very well have their own Sterling in their hands.

Chelsea are currently in a conundrum over which left-back target to pursue as they continue to kit out their squad with new lavish signings.

The Blues are looking to secure a deal for Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, but have also broadened their search by identifying Sergio Reguilon as another option. According to AS (via Just Arsenal), Chelsea are favourites to sign the Spaniard which could leave the Gunners out in the cold, who are equally as interested in his services.

Both London clubs have been identified as potential suitors for Reguilon, who enjoyed a strong season on loan with Sevilla. The 23-year-old will return to parent club Real Madrid following the Seville club’s Europa League campaign, with Los Blancos valuing him at an affordable £22.6million.

Napoli are also said to be interested in the left-back, but with Chelsea’s hefty transfer fund, they currently lead the race for his signature. The Athletic recently reported that Roman Abramovich is willing to splash as much as £300million this summer on new signings for the season ahead.

Reguilon may not be Chelsea’s first choice, but they may have to shift their full attention to him as Manchester United threaten their stance in a move for Chilwell.

According to The Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also looking to revamp his defence and is an admirer of the £80million-valued Foxes man, who is a known target of Chelsea.

With United now in the equation, it could potentially be game over for Chelsea. Both sides finished in the top four so in terms of title challenging, it’s pretty much an even ground. However, the Reds may hold a trump card by also having Harry Maguire on their books. Chilwell may find the idea of joining his former Leicester teammate at Old Trafford more appealing.

If this is the case, Chelsea must step up their pursuit of Reguilon before they are left without a new left-back next term.

With their hefty budget, the Blues will likely table an offer both the Spaniard and Madrid can’t refuse, which will seriously hurt Arsenal’s attempt to bolster their own squad.

Aston Villa are yet to make any moves in the summer transfer window – a stark contrast to last year- but latest reports linking them with a move for a Premier League outcast is rather worrying…

What’s the word?

According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, the Midlands outfit are one of the teams showing an interest in Liverpool winger Harry Wilson this summer along with newly-promoted Leeds United and Newcastle United.

However, they have been told it’ll cost around £20m to secure him permanently from the top-flight champions.

It’s thought that this fee has put off those keen parties so far and perhaps it should stay that way from Villa’s part.

£20m mistake?

The 23-year-old did indeed bag seven times this campaign for a relegated AFC Bournemouth side but a fair fraction of these were from dead-ball situations whilst the Welsh international only averaged 1.8 shots and 0.5 dribbles per game, via WhoScored.

One of those goals was actually at Villa Park early on in the season when Wilson gave Neil Taylor the runaround – per SofaScore, the winger recorded five shots and had 90% passing accuracy whilst his fellow countryman won just one duel and picked up a mediocre 6.6 rating.

Eddie Howe lauded his contribution to the Cherries as “hugely impressive” with his Reds boss Jurgen Klopp claiming that his set-piece ability is “world-class” and “incredible”.

Though despite this, you have to wonder if his addition is needed at Villa Park with Trezeguet and Jack Grealish occupying either wing.

If Jota were to leave, there would be a spot available in the squad but is it wise to splash £20m on a backup? Probably not, especially given the club spent over £140m last summer and were still involved in a relegation scrap.

It could well be another blunder in the transfer market from Villa.

وانضم أوديجارد إلى صفوف آرسنال في سوق الانتقالات الماضية مقابل 40 مليون يورو، بعدما فشل في حجز مكان أساسي داخل تشكيل ريال مدريد سواء مع زين الدين زيدان أو كارلو أنشيلوتي.

وتحدث اللاعب في حوار مع التلفزيون النرويجي “TV2” وقال: “عشت لحظات صعبة في ريال مدريد، لكن رغم ذلك تواجدي في التدريبات بجانب أفضل اللاعبين جعلني أقوى ونضجت كثيرًا”.

وأضاف: “عندما تكون في نادٍ ينافس بقوة في أعلى المستويات، من الصعب تكوين صداقات مع لاعبيه، لن يكون ذلك سهلًا خاصة عندما تكون صغيرًا وقادم من مكان آخر”.

وتابع: “الأجواء داخل غرفة ملابس اللاعبين في ريال مدريد كانت مختلفة عما اعتدت في النرويج، عكس ما أعيشه في آرسنال حاليًا”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “اعتقد أن هناك حالة من التشتت بين اللاعبين داخل غرفة ملابس ريال مدريد، لذلك أنا سعيد بالأجواء داخل آرسنال”.

وعن أسباب رحيله عن ريال مدريد: “اعتقد أن كل ما يمارس كرة القدم، يفهم الأسباب، لأنك لا تضمن المشاركة في كل مباراة يجب أن تنال ثقة من حولك دائمًا، هذا يعتمد عليك وعلى أدائك في التدريبات ولكن من المهم أن تشعر بالحب من كل من حولك لتشعر بأهميتك في النادي”.
