According to a report from the Evening Standard, Chelsea will want in the region of £40 million for striker Tammy Abraham – coming after ExWHUemployee’s recent big claim that he is now West Ham United’s number one forward target.

Indeed, West Ham are still keen on Abraham and especially if manager David Moyes does the previously unthinkable and guides his side to a Champions League place.

However, the report also suggests that the Irons will face competition from Serie A giants AC Milan for Abraham’s signature – dealing a possible blow in their hopes of landing the Englishman.

As well as this, Chelsea will demand a £40 million asking price due to the fact manager Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in ‘at least’ one top class striker this summer.

أكد الدولي الجابوني، بيير إيميرك أوباميانج، مُهاجم فريق برشلونة، أنه لم يتردد لحظة في قبول عرض البلوجرانا، مُشيرًا إلى أن الانتقال إلى نادٍ بحجم النادي الكتالوني، فرصة لا تأتي ألا مرة واحدة فقط في العمر.

أوباميانج كان قد فسخ تعاقده مع آرسنال، في آخر أيام نافذة الانتقالات الشتوية، وانضم إلى برشلونة في صفقة انتقال حُر، ووقع على عقد مدته 3 سنوات.

وردًا على “متى كان أول اتصال بينك وبين برشلونة في هذه السوق الشتوية؟”، أجاب: “أنا لا اتذكر، لقد فعل والدي كل ذلك مع المحامي الخاص بي ويمكنهم قول ذلك بشكل أفضل، لكنني علمت قبل أسبوع من الموافقة على العرض، في الأسبوع السابق كانت هناك اتصالات بالفعل وعرفت ذلك”.

وقال أوباميانج في حواره مع صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية: “لقد كنت قريبًا جدًا من برشلونة في 2020، ولكن في النهاية لم يحدث شيء، وهذا أمر وارد في سوق الانتقالات”.

وأردف: “عندما رأيت تصفيق الجماهير في كامب نو، الأمر كان شيئًا لا يُصدق بالنسبة لي، إنه حلم أن تلعب في ملعب مثل هذا، وأن أتلقى هذا الترحيب، لقد كنت مسرورًا للغاية بكل شيء، وما رأيته من الجماهير أمرًا لا يُصدق حقًا”.

Football has quickly moved on from the greed-motivated plans of the proposed European Super League (ESL) but there could soon be subsequent consequences for their actions.

This, of course, involves Tottenham Hotspur and it could be a worrying sign for their immediate future, thanks to the decisions of Daniel Levy and the club’s hierarchy.

Much of the Spurs faithful have protested against the ENIC group, as well as the chairman, following the downfall of the breakaway group but the latest on the situation is only going to anger people even more.

According to ESPN, UEFA are ready to pursue severe disciplinary action against the teams that signed up to the ESL. As a result, this could lead to maximum punishment under the organisation’s rules, which is a two-year ban from competing in the Champions League and Europa League.

Over the last week or so, UEFA have sought to clarify the position of ten of the 12 clubs who signed up to the proposal and could hand them a lesser sanction but you’d imagine this will, at best, still be a hefty fine.

At the time this news first surfaced, Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville lambasted owners like Levy in a scratching and passionate rant against the plans live on air (via the Evening Standard).

“[My thoughts are] no different to Gary and every supporter up and down the country,” said the former Liverpool vice-captain. “What I would say is this is not Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City involved, this is John Henry and FSG, this is the Glazers, this is Roman Abramovich, Sheikh Mansour, Stan Kroenke, Daniel Levy – these are the people to blame for this.”

Neville added: “It can be stopped and I am convinced of it. Going forward that is what we need, marches on stadiums, supporters getting together, it should not be allowed to happen. I said yesterday that I thought it was a criminal act.”

This will now have a dangerous knock-on effect for Spurs, especially as they are currently on the lookout for a new manager. Amid the ESL plans first coming to the surface, Levy ruthlessly sacked Jose Mourinho in a week where they had the Carabao Cup final.

It is thought, via football.london’s Alasdair Gold, that he would like a new manager in place before the end of the season. However, likely sanctions and a potential ban from Europe would make the managerial vacany so much less appealing than it already is.

The Lilywhites are firmly in the top-four race, sitting just five points behind Champions League finalists, Chelsea, with four games still to play.

Even then, a spot in the Europa League is more likely – but will a top coach be willing to come to North London if their transfer budget is impacted through possible sanctions and the prospect of no European football?

Not many.

As Neville describes it, this “criminal” decision and the likely consequences could hand Spurs a huge hammer blow as they look to move on with their immediate future.

Although, some might say it’s exactly what Levy and ENIC deserve after the stunt they tried to pull.

Steve Bruce has dropped an injury blow before Newcastle United travel to Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Lowdown: Newcastle are virtually safe

The St. James’ Park faithful are virtually safe from dropping down from the top flight down to the EFL Championship.

They currently sit nine points above the relegation zone with just four games left to play (Sky Sports), and so while it is not mathematically impossible that they could still go down, it would take a huge ask from both Fulham and West Brom.

With this in mind, it may be an opportunity for Bruce to give some minutes to some of his fringe players or bed some youngsters in, but he will not have Elliot Anderson available for the visit to the Foxes.

The Latest: Anderson injured for Newcastle

Speaking in his pre-game press conference before the match against Brendan Rodgers’ men, Bruce confirmed with regards to Anderson (via The Chronicle):

“He picked up a knock in the last game he played and it’s set him back a little bit.

“We’re not sure how bad it is but it’s a hip problem.

“He’s going to be struggling for the next couple of weeks.”

This rules him out of the match against LCFC and potentially also their next two fixtures against both Manchester City and Sheffield United respectively, seemingly ruining his chances of a late chance to strut his stuff before the summer.

The Verdict: Anderson injury a big blow

Anderson is a promising talent, having already made his breakthrough in the team this season at the tender age of just 18, and with potentially nothing to play for, these next matches could have allowed him to get a run in the side.

Nonetheless, the midfield player will have to try and work his way back to full fitness so that he can hopefully make another appearance before the campaign finishes, otherwise it will be over to the pre-season period for him to show Bruce he has what it takes.

When Jeremie Frimpong unexpectedly left Celtic for German shores back in January, it left the Hoops in the lurch.

The Bhoys suddenly needed to fill a vacant hole at full-back and they didn’t have much time in order to do it.

The player that Peter Lawwell and Celtic’s recruitment team decided upon was Jonjoe Kenny.

On paper, this was an adequate piece of business from the top brass at Parkhead. They’d found a temporary resolution to their problem at barely any cost.

The Toffees defender arrived on loan and after being nominated for Rookie of the Year when playing for Schalke in the Bundesliga, it looked like he’d do well.

Unfortunately, like Celtic’s season, it has been a period to forget. Kenny is eye-catching going forward but truth be told, his defending leaves plenty to be desired.

The £15k-per-week earner has endured a dismal few months at Paradise and with his stay in Glasgow coming to an end, John Kennedy must focus on other options, players who may actually be here next season.

After all, if Celtic decide to bring Kenny back next term, it would be a questionable decision.

When the big games have fallen upon the Hoops, Kenny has never been one to stand up and take responsibility.

In all three Old Firm derbies now, he’s been particularly inconsistent. In February, the defender’s lapse back pass led to a corner from which Alfredo Morelos scored.

His worst performance in a Celtic shirt arguably followed in the Scottish Cup fourth round.

He and Diego Laxalt had what Paul John Dykes described on A Celtic State of Mind during the half time interval as a “nightmare.”

The Everton youngster struggled with Ryan Kent and was at fault for both goals. He failed to get close enough to Steven Davis for the opener and then accidentally diverted the ball into his own net for the second after failing to track the run of Kent.

Unfortunately, he was poor again the last time Celtic took to the field.

The 24-year-old didn’t provide much support to James Forrest down the right-hand side and was given a rough afternoon defensively.

Kenny lost possession 21 times and only completed 72% of his passes as his side slipped to a devastating 4-1 defeat at Ibrox.

Scott Brown may have been at fault for Morelos’ fierce strike in the first half, but Kenny never looked comfortable during his time on the pitch. His afternoon was made worse by the fact he committed two fouls and was dribbled past on three occasions.

It doesn’t feel as though Kenny has been at the races for a while now. Like Celtic’s season, his performances have only continued to dwindle.

The interim manager needs to factor in other options when the Bhoys face St Johnstone on Wednesday evening.
