Some West Ham United fans are far from happy with a picture of four of the club’s players showing off a new range of Hammers merchandise.

The 2020/21 campaign was a magnificent one for the Irons as they finished in sixth place in the Premier League table, meaning they will be competing in the Europa League group stages next term. As such, preparations for the next season are already underway, both on and off the pitch.

As David Moyes and the board look to bring in new players, a new line of what appears to be West Ham training merchandise has been released. A photo including Aaron Cresswell, Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen and Mark Noble has emerged sporting the new gear, and it has not gone down well with some supporters.

The image was shared on Twitter by @WestHam_Central with the caption “These are awful”, and it attracted plenty of attention from supporters. These took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the photo.

Jon Newsome doubts that Leeds United will be able to pull off a move to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion this summer.

The Whites have been linked with a move to snap up the Baggies goalkeeper, who enjoyed an excellent season despite their relegation.

Johnstone made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League and appears almost certain to remain in the top-flight, with West Ham United also linked with an interest.

Leeds may need to sign a new goalkeeper this summer amid uncertainty over the future of Kiko Casilla, who has fallen out of favour under Marcelo Bielsa after being found guilty of using racist language while playing for the club in the Championship.

Newsome insists that Johnstone would not come into Elland Road and instantly become a starter, because of the excellent form of Illan Meslier, and believes that could place any potential transfer in doubt.

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, he said: “Sam Johnstone, I don’t think he’d want to come in and fight for his place. I think he’d want to come in, you want to come in and not be guaranteed the No.1 shirt but you’re being bought and brought into a club where you’re going to be playing every week unless something else happens.

“I can’t see that happening because Meslier’s had such a great season.”

كشف أحمد مجاهد رئيس اللجنة الثلاثية لاتحاد الكرة السابقة، حقيقة منعه منتخب مصر خلال فترة تولي حسام البدري من خوض مباريات ودية، كما رد على اتهامات تعيينه نيلو فينجادا مديرًا فنيًا للاتحاد لوجود موارد مالية زائدة.

وقال مجاهد في تصريحات إذاعية عبر أثير الشباب والرياضة: “لم ألغ المباريات الودية لمنتخب مصر خلال فترة تولي حسام البدري، بل البدري هو من ألغاها”.

وأضاف: “نحن لم نلعب الدوري وقتها، وإذا كان منتخب مصر فاز على كينيا في التصفيات، لكنا اقتحمنا التصنيف الأول، وكنا نجهز بعدها مباراة ودية أمام بوروندي”.

وأوضح: “محمد بركات مدير المنتخب حينذاك كان (بيتحايل) على البدري من أجل لعب المباراة، ولكنه هو الذي رفض، والدليل أننا لم نلعب مباريات في الدوري هذه الفترة”.

وواصل: “محمد بركات طلب من حسام البدري أن يضم حتى لاعبين آخرين ويستغل المعسكر، ولكنه رفض”.

واستطرد: “على الجانب الآخر، كيروش لم يكن يصمت عن طلباته، كل يوم كان يطلب طلبات كثيرة في أدق التفاصيل”.

وعن تعيين فينجادا، استكمل مجاهد: “موارد اتحاد الكرة من الرعاية، ومنتخب مصر صرف على نفسه من خلال البطولة العربية وبطولة إفريقيا، وربح حوالي 4 ملايين دولار”.

واستأنف: “ولكن من قال هذا الكلام كان يحاول أن يمزح وهو لا يجيد المزاح، فينجادا يتقاضى 26 ألف يورو ومعه اثنين من المساعدين، وليس 65 ألف كما يتردد، أنا من نفذت عقد البدري، وكان يتقاضى 970 ألف جنيه شهريًا”.

يذكر، أن حسام البدري قد صرح في وقت سابق، أنه سأل أحمد مجاهد عن سبب التعاقد مع فينجادا، وكان رد رئيس الاتحاد وقتها: “عندي شوية يوروهات عايز أخلصهم”.

وأردف مجاهد: “منذ تولى فينجادا مهمته كان يقدم أفكارًا جديدة ويتابع منتخبات الناشئين، وكان يقدم صورة عالمية لا نراها، هو وكيروش وفيريرا أساتذة في جامعة لشبونة، كان يذهب لقطاع الناشئين في الأندية ويتعاون مع المدربين، ولو كان قدر لي أن أستمر في اتحاد الكرة كنت سأجعله يستمر”.

واستدرك: “عقد فينجادا لا يوجد فيه شرط جزائي، ولو كان اتحاد الكرة الحالي يريد أن يفسخ تعاقده منذ أن تولوا المسؤولية لكانوا فعلوها”.

وشدد: “اتحاد الكرة لا يُكلف الدولة المصرية مليمًا واحدًا، لم يدخل لنا قرشًا من الوزارة إلا مكافأة إجادة تم صرفها للاعبين”.

He guided me. I held the bat wrong, but it wassuccessful for me, said Headley, who played two Test matches for theWest Indies on the 1973 tour of England.My dad was always a great believer in allowing natural ability toflow.The younger Headley pointed out that his father also did a few thingsthat were not considered orthodox. A centre-back partnership of Harry Maguire and Cristian Romero at Manchester United could be brilliant, says Forza Italian Football’s editor-in-chief Conor Clancy.

Romero, 23, is currently being linked with a move to Manchester United, with Calciomercato (via The Sun) reporting that the Red Devils are ready to do battle with Liverpool for the Atalanta defender.

Maguire has been a mainstay in United’s defence since joining the club back in 2019; however, some feel that the Englishman and Victor Lindelof do not work as a centre-half pairing.

Considering that, Clancy thinks a move for Romero this summer would make sense, suggesting he could work well alongside Maguire.

“I think they could [be a partnership],” the Italian football expert said. “I think for 35 games a season, they’d be brilliant.”

Clancy, however, did have a word of caution. He added: “But they might make a few odd decisions because they probably have the same flaws in that sometimes they do things and you just think, ‘What? Why did that happen?’ ”

Whatever the case, United fans will surely be pleased to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trying to improve both the team’s defence and attack after finishing behind rivals Manchester City in the title race.

The Red Devils are, of course, also in for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, so this is possibly shaping up to be a good transfer window for the club.
