Antes do objetivo pessoal, sempre coloco o do grupo antes.

O seu gol colocou o time no G6 do Campeonato Brasileiro.

Sunderland must sign Mahlon Romeo

The previous summer transfer window was a rather busy one for Sunderland that saw the Wearside club bring a number of players in on free transfers such as Alex Pritchard and Corry Evans, as well as loan deals for players like Callum Doyle, Leon Dajaku and Nathan Broadhead among others.

However, it seems as though there could have been another new player at Sunderland this season that Black Cats manager Lee Johnson will now be wishing the club managed to secure.

According to Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley, Sunderland were interested in signing Millwall right-back Mahlon Romeo during the previous summer window before he eventually joined Pompey on a season-long loan deal.

Taking into account how Sunderland have a lot of their current defensive players out injured and the fact that Romeo has managed to play the full 90 minutes in all but one of the 15 League One games he’s appeared in for Portsmouth so far this season as a right-back and right-midfielder, he could have been a really useful player for the Black Cats this season.

In those league appearances, Romeo has shown just what a capable defensive unit he has been for Portsmouth by racking up an average of 2.7 tackles per game, 1.5 clearances per game and 1.3 interceptions per game, whilst winning 62% of the duels he’s been involved in.

Sunderland have managed to concede one more goal in the league than Portsmouth at this point in the season, despite Pompey having played two more games than the Black Cats, Romeo could have added some strength and depth at the back for Sunderland.

Labelled as an “aggressive” player by Millwall manager Gary Rowett, Romeo, who is currently valued at £1.8m according to Transfermarkt, has certainly proved himself to be a solid performer in League One during his time with Portsmouth.

With this in mind, if Sunderland see an opportunity to secure the signing of Romeo when his loan deal at Pompey ends, he’d be an incredibly valuable signing if they are indeed still interested.

If their defensive problems have persisted too, he could just prove to be a worthy solution to the club’s woes heading into a new season.

Sean Morris: leaving the role at the PCA•John Gichigi/Getty Images

Sean Morris, the chief executive of the Professional Cricketers’ Association, has announced his intention to stand down from the role at the end of October. The current PCA chairman and Worcestershire captain, Vikram Solanki, will take on an enhanced role until a full-time replacement is appointed.Morris, 41, took over the PCA role in January 2008 as a successor to Richard Bevan, and his tenure coincided with some dramatic developments, including the rise of Twenty20 cricket, the terrorist attacks that interrupted England’s tour of India last winter, and the high-profile falling-out of Kevin Pietersen and Peter Moores at the beginning of the year.”During the last 18 months Sean has guided the PCA through possibly the most turbulent period in the game’s history and amidst this backdrop he has represented the PCA and the players with distinction,” read a PCA statement.”His close relationships with the England captains and the team has been essential in steering them through the many international issues that the game has encountered and his involvement in the England team returning to India after the Mumbai attacks has been warmly appreciated by cricket administrators and players across the international game.”Morris was also responsible for delivering a 35% increase in PCA commercial income despite the difficult financial climate. However, away from the international scene, he attracted heavy criticism from within his organisation – firstly when he declared, early on in his tenure, that there was no room for 18 first-class counties in the modern game – a statement that put the wind up a third of his members . And later, on his watch, the PCA also failed to prevent the imposition of the ECB’s controversial incentive payments scheme, an issue on which Solanki was particularly outspoken earlier in the season.Solanki, however, insisted that no pressure had been brought to bear on Morris from within the PCA. “The decision has been Sean’s and his alone,” Solanki told Cricinfo. “There has been nothing more to it. I am one year into a four-year contract and I fully intend to be playing for Worcestershire next year. This is just an interim period where I can take a more active role to make sure business remains as usual.”However, Solanki stressed that the core values of the PCA would need to be revisited in the coming months while a successor for Morris is sought. “The timeframe will be dictated by the suitability of candidates,” he said. “One thing we are adamant about is getting the appointment right. The PCA are responsible for providing services for all first-class cricketers, and that is very important.”Part of the job is obviously looking after the Team England-Player partnership, and that is a very important element of the PCA, but by no means should that be to the detriment of first-class cricketers. Our mission statement is very clear in stating that. We aim to look after the interests of and provide services for all first-class cricketers, and the PCA and ECB must be prepared to work together for the betterment of the English game.”Morris now intends to use his experience at the PCA to forge a career in sports administration. “I would like to place on record my thanks to all of the players for the support they have given me over the last 18 months,” he said in a statement. “We’ve certainly been through some interesting times together and I wish them well in the future. Thanks also to the leading stakeholders in the game who I have had the pleasure of working with.”I hope the PCA will continue to cement close relationships with them which will certainly benefit the game as a whole. Finally, I am extremely grateful to the PCA team for their hard work and energy in delivering a number of notable achievements over the last 18 months. “I am now looking forward to pursuing a number of exciting opportunities and will be using my experience to make a meaningful contribution in other areas within sport.”

Worrying Rangers transfer claim emerges

A worrying Rangers claim has been made ahead of the 2022 summer transfer window for the Ibrox giants…

What’s the talk?

Football pundit Paddy Kenny has claimed that Celtic are in a healthier financial position to the Gers and has stated that Champions League qualification could be crucial for them ahead of next season.

He has indicated that Rangers will need to move on their ‘sellable assets’ if they fail to qualify for the group stages of Europe’s premier competition.

Kenny told Football Insider:

“I’m sure Rangers are in control of their finances. Of course, there will always be that worry.

“The Champions League is so important to some clubs and I’m sure not making the group stages this season was a blow. Obviously the whoever wins the league this season goes straight into the groups and gets that payday.

“That’s one hell of an incentive, not that you need extra motivation to win the league title. If Celtic manage to win the league and Rangers then don’t qualify for the Champions League groups, that’s the worst-case scenario.

“There is a lot of football still to play but we know Celtic’s finances are better than Rangers’. And, if it comes down to it and the gamble doesn’t pay off, they do have plenty of sellable assets.”

Scary

This claim is a scary one for Rangers fans due to what it implies if the club fails to win the Premiership this season. They could be in a difficult financial position if they end up in the Europa League again and that, judging by these comments, would result in key players departing from Ibrox.

Fans will surely want to see their top players remain, with the likes of Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Glen Kamara among those who have recently been tipped with exits. It should go without saying, but losing your top performers is likely to have a big impact on the pitch and could harm Gio van Bronckhorst’s chances of adding further silverware down the line.

Alfredo Morelos is another player who has been linked with a move away this year and his departure would be a major loss. He has 104 goals in 207 matches for the club and has proven that he can score goals on a consistent basis in Scotland.

Therefore, his exit would leave a major hole at the top end of the pitch that would need filling by a new addition and it is impossible to guarantee that Ross Wilson will be able to unearth another player who can score over 100 goals in so few games. This is why supporters will be fretting over Kenny’s claim and may start to think about the ‘worst-case scenario’; who could leave the club next summer.

Harmison would have been crucial – Arthur

South Africa coach Mickey Arthur believes England may rue their decision to keep fast bowler Steve Harmison out of the touring party to South Africa this winter

South Africa coach Mickey Arthur believes England may rue their decision to keep fast bowler Steve Harmison out of the touring party to South Africa this winter. Harmison, 31, who plays for Durham in the county circuit, was overlooked for the Test series beginning at Centurion on December 16, despite playing in the final two Tests of the successful Ashes campaign.Arthur said Harmison’s high action and steepling bounce would have been perfectly suited to the quicker wickets in South Africa. “He was the one England bowler who could rough us up,” Arthur told the . “If they’re trying to build a team for the next Ashes and Harmison isn’t going to be there, I can see why they’ve done it. But a few of our batters will have seen that tour party and been pretty happy he’s not on the plane – especially with our wickets, which will have plenty of pace and bounce. He would have been a very awkward proposition.”South Africa lost their most recent Test series at home, 2-1 to Australia in February, when they failed to handle left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson. Johnson may have struggled to impose himself on the slower wickets of England during the Ashes, but he was Australia’s highest wicket-taker in South Africa, picking up 16 at an average of 25.00.”We saw how dangerous Mitchell Johnson was against us on both Australian and South African wickets, because his stock ball – back of a length – was getting rib high on bouncy tracks and hitting batsmen under the heart,” Arthur said. “In England, he wasn’t helped by the slow pitches, but Harmison could have done the same thing as Johnson out here.”England’s tour of South Africa comprises two Twenty20 internationals, five ODIs and four Tests, with a handful of warm-up games. The tour gets underway on November 6 with England XI taking on the South African Board President’s XI.

Inicialmente, Vanderlei pouco trabalhou no primeiro tempo.
