O técnico Osmar Loss quer aproveitar os amistosos que o Corinthians realizará durante a parada para a Copa do Mundo para dar chances aos jovens jogadores do elenco. O atacante Bruno Xavier e o volante Thiaguinho ainda não atuaram, e o atacante Matheus Matias entrou nos minutos finais da partida contra o Vitória.

Bruno Xavier e Thiaguinho têm 21 anos e estão emprestados pelo Nacional apenas até o fim do Paulistão de 2019. Eles foram relacionados pela primeira vez para o jogo contra o Ceará, ainda na quarta rodada do Brasileirão, mas ainda não saíram do banco.

Durante a parada do Brasileirão, o Corinthians tem três amistosos confirmados: contra o Cruzeiro (4 de julho, no Mineirão), diante do Grêmio (8 de julho, na Arena Pantanal) e novamente contra o Cruzeiro (11 de julho, na Arena em Itaquera). A reapresentação do elenco será no dia 25.

– Esse momento de treinamento, que vamos fazer amistosos, é fundamental para de fato ver esses meninos, poder dar minutagem e ver as características que podem oferecer. Treinar é muito importante, mas jogar é fundamental para saber com o que estamos trabalhando. Kuwait defeated Jersey in a final-over thriller at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur in the replay of the rain-abandoned fixture on Sunday. Rain intruded on the second attempt as well, a heavy downfall delaying the start, but the clouds cleared in time for a 39-over match which began at 1.45pm.After being put in to bat by Kuwait, Jersey’s top order struggled and they were three down by the 15th over, Abdullah Akhunzada, Saad Khalid and Mohammed Naseer sharing the spoils. It was then up to captain Peter Gough and Corey Bisson to stabilize the Jersey innings, both men scoring half-centuries.Bisson departed on 54, run out by wicketkeeper Sharjeel Tahir after being called through for a tight single. Gough anchored the team’s innings until the 33rd over when he was caught by Mohammad Amin, while the rest of the Jersey side failed to sparkle with the bat. In contrast, Kuwait’s fast bowler Saad and legbreak bowler Akhunzada both had good games, taking three wickets each to leave their side chasing 157 for victory.Kuwait’s batsmen started the chase brightly in the afternoon sunshine, openers Irfan Bhatti and Aamir Javed adding 55 before Bhatti was bowled by Ben Stevens with the final delivery of the 10th over. Chennai Super Kings got their title defence back on track with a chase that covered the spectrum from blue to yellow and all the colours in between against Cape Cobras. Michael Hussey got the pursuit of 146 off to a positive start, but JP Duminy’s four wickets wrested the advantage back, and put the Cape Cobras in the pound seat. MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo’s 43-run partnership helped Chennai recover but Vernon Philander dismissed Dhoni to give the Cobras another sniff. Then, Bravo made a mockery of Dale Steyn, scoring 17 runs off his last over, the 19th of the innings, to paint the Chidamabaram Stadium in the colour of the home team.With 23 runs required off the last two overs, Chennai needed someone to launch them over the line, and Bravo took it upon himself to do so. First, he mowed a Steyn slower ball which turned into a full toss over midwicket, and carved the next delivery behind point for four, before playing a classy inside-out cover drive to ensure the Super Kings succeeded in a tricky chase on a slow pitch.Hussey set the tone when he picked up from where he left against the Mumbai Indians with an authoritative knock upfront. Bravo broke the drought when Philander got his line wrong and allowed the pull to fine leg.Duminy then turned from hero to villain by over-running a Dhoni catch at deep cover, and the Cobras’ fortunes worsened from that moment. Bravo unleashed a six over extra cover off a Philander slower ball to keep the asking-rate under control. Even Dhoni’s departure did not affect his resolve, and he hauled Chennai to their first win.The Cobras would have rued not scoring enough runs after being dragged back from a position where they looked set to score over 170. They had a stuttering start, when R Ashwin trapped Richard Levi lbw with his first delivery. Herschelle Gibbs fizzed for a while, but fell after trying to pull a length ball from Doug Bollinger.Thereafter, Owais Shah’s responsible, yet busy knock and his partnership with Duminy troubled Chennai. The pair complemented each other, with Duminy the energiser and Shah the sage. Albie Morkel removed both in the same over to peg the Cobras back just when they looked set to take off.With the pressure building and the Super Kings deploying a series of slower deliveries, some of which were a touch short, the Cobras became edgy. Bravo’s variations proved particularly problematic and the innings ended with the Cobras unable to find a boundary off any of the last 29 deliveries. Bravo’s real contribution, however, came much later in the piece.

O período é de treinos e o Vasco da Gama pode retornar da pausa para a Copa do Mundo com caras novas. Afinal, Jorginho foi contratado pouco antes do Mundial e, com as semanas livres para as atividades, pode impôr seu estilo e características à equipe. Além disso, reforços como o volante Raul, contratado no início de junho, estão atrás das oportunidades no time principal.

Vindo do Ceará, o meio-campista de 21 anos valorizou o tempo para os treinos integrais e se colocou à disposição do técnico Jorginho.

– O tempo é bom, fizemos dois jogos com o Jorginho (antes da Copa do Mundo), então não deu tempo para treinar muito. Estão sendo importante esses treinos, para pormos em prática o que ele nos pede – afirmou Raul, antes de falar mais sobre as suas características e preferências dentro das quatro linhas:

– Pelas minhas características, posso fazer tanto o primeiro quanto o segundo volante. O futebol está muito moderno, temos que desenvolver mais de uma função. É time grande, se estou aqui é porque tenho qualidade. Se o professor optar por mim, vou dar o meu melhor.

Contratado pouco antes do recesso para o Mundial disputado na Rússia, Raul ainda não teve chance de atuar pelo Vasco, mas destacou o ambiente positivo do grupo. Para o volante, o Cruz-Maltino tem condições de chegar para o segundo semestre bem preparado para os desafios do Campeonato Brasileiro e Copa Sul-Americana.

– Estou há quase um mês aqui. É um grupo muito bom, um grupo humilde, trabalhador, então acredito que a parada (para o Mundial da Rússia) foi boa. Estamos fazendo vários trabalhos físicos e de força. Isso vai nos ajudar muito pois temos uma sequência difícil pela frente.

تحدث سمير كمونة، لاعب الأهلي السابق، عن مواجهة الأحمر أمام ريال مدريد في بطولة كأس العالم للأندية.

الأهلي يواجه ريال مدريد، مساء اليوم، على استاد مولاي عبد الله في المغرب، ضمن منافسات دور نصف النهائي بكأس العالم للأندية.

وقال كمونة في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “الحدث اليوم”: “الأهلي من الممكن أن يحقق المفاجأة أمام ريال مدريد بسبب الغيابات التي يعاني منها الفريق الأسباني”.

وتابع: “يجب على اللاعبين أن يصدقوا أنفسهم ويتأهلوا إلى المباراة النهائية مثلما فعل الهلال السعودي”.

وأكمل: “المدير الفني للأهلي مارسيل كولر يقدم كرة قدم ممتعة مع المارد الأحمر إلى جانب وجود جمل فنية وتكتيكية تظهر في الملعب وهناك العديد من اللاعبين أدائهم يتطور باستمرار”.

India established firm control over the Kolkata Test through a quick 224-run stand between VVS Laxman and MS Dhoni followed by two quick wickets before bad light forced a premature end to the day’s play. The Laxman-Dhoni association was similar to their 259-run association at the same venue last year, which set up the declaration and gave India enough time to force an innings win against South Africa.In the morning session Laxman finished his first century in 15 months, a deceptive statistic because he has won India Tests in between, and about 25 minutes before tea Dhoni reached his first hundred since the previous Kolkata effort last February. Twenty minutes after tea India declared their innings closed, resisting the temptation of allowing Laxman time to go for a double-century. In fading light, Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin sent the West Indies openers back.In all likelihood today was going to be about West Indies’ trying to delay the declaration. Their chance to restrict India came early in the morning when slightly variable bounce showed up, and the ball moved around in the humidity and under overcast skies. Yuvraj Singh scratched around for his 25, and Kemar Roach produced two edges off an aggressive Dhoni’s bat by the time he had reached 16. Before Carlton Baugh could catch them, though, the umpire’s call of “no-ball” resonated. Since then a bizarre bad-light stoppage at 10.40am was the only obstacle for India.On his beloved Eden Gardens strip, Laxman batted on unaffected, reaching 1217 runs in Kolkata, at an average of 110.63. India’s total of 631 is the fourth-highest team total in Tests in Kolkata. Of the six 600-plus scores made at the venue, India have made five of them and West Indies the other.

VVS Laxman’s 176 is his fourth century against the West Indies and his 17th overall. It is also his fourth-highest score in Tests.

Laxman went past Sunil Gavaskar to become the Indian batsman with the highest run aggregate at a particular venue. He now has 1217 runs in ten Tests at Eden Gardens with five centuries.

Laxman moved to third position on the list of batsmen with the highest batting average at a particular venue (minimum 1000 runs scored). Don Bradman (in Headingley) and Greg Chappell (in Brisbane) are above Laxman.

MS Dhoni scored only his second century in 32 innings. His last century came against South Africa in Kolkata in February 2010. In 32 innings since that knock, he has scored 958 runs at an average of 31.93 with a century and six fifties.

The 224-run stand between Laxman and Dhoni is the third-highest seventh-wicket stand for India in Tests. It is also third on the list of highest Indian partnerships against West Indies.

There were six fifty-plus stands in the Indian innings. This has been bettered only once by India when they notched up eight fifty-plus stands against England at The Oval in 2007.

Yuvraj walked back a dejected man, a man who knows he can’t afford too many such innings at this crucial stage of his Test career, but out walked a man with the declaration on his mind. He lofted the third ball he faced over mid-on. Laxman was already in his 90s by then, and reached his hundred in the most ‘Laxman of fashions’, taking a Sammy outswinger from outside off and flicking it to the right of mid-on. Roach bowled his no-balls in fading light, and West Indies did the smart thing then, using fast bowlers and bouncers to make sure play was suspended. An early lunch was taken, and eventually only about 10 minutes’ play was lost.Post lunch West Indies tried to slow India down through restrictive fields as opposed to wickets. Dhoni and Laxman still managed to go at over four per over, Laxman through singles and twos, and Dhoni through the big hits. There was a bit of method to Dhoni’s hitting. He chose to be patient when Sammy bowled wide with two men deep, but used the pace of Edwards to beat those men. He didn’t try anything fancy against Devendra Bishoo’s legspin, but welcomed Marlon Samuels with a nonchalant first-ball six over long-on.The singles remained available throughout, and Laxman kept picking them, hitting only two fours in his advance from 100 to 150, his sixth such conversion out of 17 hundreds. As he approached his hundred, Dhoni too took the Laxman approach as the field sets didn’t ask him to take risks. He hit only one four in moving from 68 to 100, but hardly dropped the rate.West Indies were now going through the motions. In the first over after tea, though, Roach managed to bowl a legal delivery and get Dhoni to edge it. Laxman’s double might or might not have been a consideration, but a mixture of fading light and bouncers at Ashwin made sure India declared with a possible 24 overs to go to stumps.Dhoni led the team out wearing a helmet, which meant India were going to open with spin again. This, though, seemed to be dictated by the state of light. However, he pushed his luck by getting Yadav to bowl the second over. Yadav’s second ball was a peach: it landed on the seam and kicked at Adrian Barath, taking the edge to second slip.That was the last over Yadav could bowl. Kraigg Brathwaite and Kirk Edwards scored seven runs in the first six overs. That allowed the fielders to crowd the bat. A bat-pad opportunity duly arrived, off the bowling of Ashwin, but substitute Virat Kohli couldn’t hold on to it. Kohli was relieved three overs later when the same man Brathwaite was given out bat-pad off Ashwin. This time, though, the edge wasn’t so conclusive. Five balls later, light deteriorated enough to send the players back.

Mahmudullah, the Bangladesh vice-captain, has said Bangladesh may have a mental block when it comes to translating the things they do in practice to performances in matches. Bangladesh were bowled out for 135 by Pakistan on the first day of the first Test, in Chittagong, and then saw Pakistan move to 415 for 4 by the end of the second day. Mahmudullah said it was the batting that had been the most disappointing aspect of the performance so far.”Everything goes right in practice but we couldn’t apply it in the match,” he said. “We can’t understand during the match what we should do and what we shouldn’t. So our shot selection went wrong. Hopefully we can do well in the second innings and bounce back in the match.”In seven Test innings this year, Bangladesh have gone past 300 just once. Mahmudullah said it was just a matter of one good innings, or one big score from an individual, that could turn around the batting form. “In the last two or three series we have not batted well. But in the previous one-and-a-half years we batted well consistently. So it’s a matter of one innings. If we bat well, the confidence will come back.”We are waiting for a good performance from someone. In the first innings Nasir [Hossain] played a good innings while Nazimuddin survived well. If someone plays a big innings we can get our confidence back through him.”Mahmudullah acknowledged that the poor turnout at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium was related to the team’s poor performances of late. “As we are not playing well, spectators did not turn up. When we start playing good cricket, they will turn up again.”On the second day of the Test, Bangladesh were made to toil by Mohammad Hafeez, who scored 143, and Younis Khan, who stayed unbeaten on 96. Mahmudullah praised Pakistan’s batting but also said there was no turn in the pitch and the Bangladesh batsmen could take heart from that.”They were very compact and disciplined. The way they left the ball and the way they played shots, we can learn many things from them. As there is no turn and bite in the pitch and nothing for the seamers either, our plan was to be patient. We prevented them from batting fluently; our bowlers bowled well today.”Two out of Hafeez’s four Test centuries have come against Bangladesh. He said he was happy to score against any opposition though Bangladesh were a stronger opposition in one-dayers than Tests.”You want to perform against every opponent because every time you come out you always try to give your 100%. Bangladesh have done a great job in the last eight or nine years and have learned many things. I think they will keep working hard at it. At one-day level they perform much better than at Test level.”Hafeez was denied a bigger score by a poor umpiring decision: he was adjudged lbw though there was a thick inside edge. But Hafeez said it was a part of the game. “Sometimes you get a really bad decision, so I have no complaints. All you can do is work hard.”In a surprising move, Hafeez had been given the new ball on the first day, after Pakistan chose to field. He said he was comfortable with the new ball though did sometimes find it funny how much success he has had as a bowler in the past year. “I am always confident with the new ball and I bowl with it in the nets. I’ve been doing it for the last year and the confidence the management has shown in me that I can do this job at the highest level has been encouraging.”Sometimes I laugh about my success with the ball because I am basically a batsman. My bowling just comes naturally because as a batsman I can understand the thinking of other batsmen.”
