Nick Browne produced a second career-best innings within a week to hold Essex together on an intriguing second day against Derbyshire at Chesterfield. Browne dug in for more than five hours for an unbeaten 86 before a storm prevented any play after tea.Browne had a previous top first class score of 65 and he scored that last week at Chelmsford against Gloucestershire. He is a big man with powerful arms, and he is strong through the offside. Although his innings was a prolonged one, 60 of his runs came from boundaries.The day started badly for his side. Ravi Bopara was caught behind down the leg side off the tenth ball of the day, bowled by Mark Footitt. Bopara was not happy about the decision and lingered at the crease before trudging to the pavilion.This brought in Jesse Ryder, who scored a century against Gloucestershire a week ago. Ryder went to 32 briskly. He was dropped at slip by Alex Hughes but chopped an inside edge onto his stumps without adding to his score.James Foster, so often the man to go to when things are dodgy in the Essex middle order, launched his innings with a boundary through midwicket off his first ball and made his way to 29 before he too dragged a ball from Tom Taylor onto his wicket shortly after lunch.At lunch Essex were still 159 runs behind Derbyshire, and in a game which has seen wickets fall frequently, apart from Monday afternoon’s stand between Wayne Madsen and Wes Durston, they were in no position to feel secure. Madsen was at the ground but unable to field because the medics judged he was still concussed after the blow to his head delivered by Graham Napier on Monday evening.In the afternoon session Browne pressed on, never looking troubled by the Derbyshire attack but scoring at a sedate pace. Derbyshire used six bowlers, including Madsen who has ten first class wickets to his name from 107 matches, which provides an indication of how easy the pitch had become, as was predicted on the first morning by the locals who know the Queen’s Park square well.After James Foster was dismissed, Ryan ten Doeschate arrived to offer the solidity he has done so often but was trapped on the back foot by a ball from Alex Hughes that appeared to keep a little low, and Hughes had his eighth first-class wicket.Greg Smith, approaching veteran status now, joined Browne and together they added 37 which, in the context of a relatively low scoring match, could turn out to be invaluable, especially if they can extend their partnership on the third morning.Browne has done his time earning his stripes in the Essex second team. Last week at Chelmsford he showed that he has what it takes, and today he was the rock upon which a solid Essex response to Derbyshire was built.

وكان الزمالك قد تلقى خسارة مفاجئة أمام أرتا سولار الجيبوتي بهدفين دون رد، في مباراة ذهاب دور الـ32 من بطولة الكونفدرالية الإفريقية، ومن المقرر أن تقام مواجهة العودة في القاهرة يوم 30 سبتمبر.

“Allandependência?”
– O Allan é um achado. Tem muita qualidade técnica e física, tem empatia com o torcedor. Quando entra outro jogador (Yuri), é difícil fazer um comparativo. Mas não tem uma Allan dependência. Criamos muitas chances, se tivéssemos feito dois gols, não estaríamos falamos dele aqui. Mas é um jogador especial, de alto nível.

João Pedro funciona jogando aberto?
– Acho que o João Pedro fez uma partida muito boa, produziu, taticamente foi bem. Acho que com tempo de treinamento nessa posição, ele vai melhorar ainda mais.

The ICC is considering a request from India to appeal the verdict in the James Anderson-Ravindra Jadeja pushing case. The governing body confirmed on Tuesday that it is had received a request from the BCCI and that its chief executive Dave Richardson would decide by August 10 whether to lodge a formal appeal.Lack of video evidence and impartial testimony led to the judicial commissioner Gordon Lewis ruling that Anderson was not guilty of the Level 3 offence he was charged with by India during the course of the Trent Bridge Test. Jadeja had been convicted of a Level 1 offence, but BCCI’s lawyers won a decision to appeal against it and got it overturned. Should the ICC go forward with this appeal, both decisions could be liable to change.A judicial commissioner’s decision may be challenged by the concerned player or the ICC chief executive. The appeal must be filed within seven days of receipt of the written verdict with the ICC’s head of legal. A panel consisting of three members of the ICC Code of Conduct Commission will hear the matter from the beginning and has the authority to increase or decrease, amend or substitute the previous sentence/decision.”As per the code, the BCCI cannot appeal against the order. But the ICC has got the right to appeal against the said order,” BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel told ESPNcricinfo. “Yesterday night, I had written a letter to David Richardson, CEO of ICC, saying that we are not happy with the order. The code has not been properly followed.”There are too many lacunas and points under which the order can be appealed. All these points have been explained in detail in that letter. Ruwan Kalpage is set to quit his role as Sri Lanka’s acting assistant coach to take up a job as Bangladesh fielding coach, but Sri Lanka spin coach Piyal Wijetunge has been convinced to stay, SLC CEO Ashley de Silva confirmed.Both Kalpage and Wijetunge had sent letters of resignation to the Sri Lankan board earlier this week, but while Kalpage’s has been accepted, the executive committee has given Wijetunge a counter-offer.”The ExCo and Wijetunge had a discussion, and he took a decision to withdraw his resignation,” de Silva said. “The negotiations had something to do with a better offer too.”BCB director Jalal Yunus said Bangladesh will now have to look at other candidates for the role of spin coach. “He (Wijetunge) had signed an agreement with us but we are now aware that he has been convinced to stay back in Sri Lanka,” Yunus said. “So it is certain that he won’t be coming to Bangladesh.”Kalpage’s position with Sri Lanka had already been on thin ice, after the board chose to advertise the fielding coach job as part of a coaching shake-up. A decisão foi do juiz Tarciso Moreira de Souza, da 1ª Vara Criminal e de Execuções Penais da comarca de Varginha. Para justificar a decisão, o juiz diz que Bruno”satisfaz as exigências subjetivas e objetivas para a concessão da progressão de regime para o semiaberto”, e que “já cumpriu o lapso temporal necessário da pena imposta no regime fechado”.

Preso há nove anos, Bruno estava no semiaberto até fevereiro, mas voltou para o regime fechado após ser flagrado ingerindo bebida alcoólica acompanhado de duas mulheres, enquanto deveria estar em trabalho externo.

Com a liberação, o ex-goleiro deve passar por uma audiência de instrução. Ele deve seguir algumas regras, como se apresentar mensalmente até o dia 10 de cada mês em juízo e prestar contas, seu endereço atualizado e confirmar que está trabalhando. Ele também precisa se manter afastado de confusões e está proibido de frequentar bares ou boates. Além disso, precisa estar em casa das 20h até às 6h e ficar no domicílio aos domingos e feriados.

In their quest to be battle-ready for the upcoming Champions League Twenty20, Kolkata Knight Riders sent four of their players — Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Manvinder Bisla and Kuldeep Yadav — to Bloemfontein in South Africa for 15 days of training that included cycling, running and mountaineering.Looking to carry on the momentum from the IPL triumph, Knight Riders batsman Yusuf said the camp between August 20 and September 3 in South Africa under renowned trainer Adrian Le Roux has helped them immensely to be in top shape during the off season.”We trained hard during those 15 days,” Yusuf told PTI. “We used to go for outdoor cycling and mountaineering and for long treks. The gym sessions were also very good. So it was a complete fitness and endurance routine that helped us remain in great shape during our off season.”It was good fun as well. We had a great time together. All of us gelled well and made use of the opportunity. Though Piyush, Bisla and Kuldeep came back after 12 days I stayed on for 3 more days to complete a satisfying camp.”Yusuf, who last played a T20 for India against South Africa in March 2012, finished off a great season for the Gautam Gambhir-led Knight Riders. He smashed the fastest IPL fifty, in just 15 balls, to help the Shah Rukh Khan-owned unit stay second in the league stage and finally clinch its second title.”We also had proper training in the indoor nets with the local players of ‘Knights’ club helping us with our drills. We batted, bowled and special emphasis was laid on the fielding department. It was a totally different culture there and we learnt different things. everybody will see an improved Yusuf Pathan. We left on a good note in IPL this season and I wish to pick up from there when we take field in CLT20.”Initiated by Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore, the camp gave a nice opportunity for the four players to get a feel of world-class training before the CLT20 and if Yusuf and Piyush honed their skills then Bisla and Yadav, who is a slow left-arm chinaman bowler from Uttar Pradesh, got much-needed international exposure. .”It was Venky Mysore’s idea to keep the camp in the off season to provide the ultimate opportunity to these KKR players. It was certainly a great exposure for the players as it provided a perfect getaway to train in South Africa,” Knight Riders team director Joy Bhattacharya told PTI.”It was a nice off-season exercise for the players. It will certainly add to their resume and to train under top facilities in Bloemfontein under world-class trainers like Adrian Le Roux is a great opportunity. And I am sure all these four players will benefit from this outing.”While Yusuf is hoping for a return to the national team soon, legspinner Piyush is also looking for an opportunity to sneak into the team before the 2015 World Cup.Yusuf, 31, has represented India in 57 ODIs and played 22 T20Is before falling out of favour after a slump in form. He was also a part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2011.Chawla, who has had a start-stop career since he made his Test debut in 2006, will also be banking on a good CLT20 showing to make a return to the national fold.Meanwhile, Bisla and Kuldeep are still waiting to be capped as the duo try and make their mark in tournaments like the IPL and the CLT20.Wicketkeeper-batsman Bisla, 27, who is a veteran of 49 first-class matches, has represented Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab and now Knight Riders in IPL.Kanpur-born Yadav though is a lesser-known slow left-arm chinaman is eager to make his presence felt.
