رفض آرني سلوت مدرب ليفربول، استلام جائزة أفضل مدرب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، وأوضح السبب وراء قراره.
وتم اختيار سلوت كأفضل مدرب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز للموسم وجائزة رابطة مدربي الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لأفضل مدرب للعام، تقديرًا لموسمه الأول مع ليفربول.
وقاد سلوت ليفربول للتتويج بلقب الدوري رقم 20 في تاريخه، وحقق ذلك خلال موسمه الأول كمدرب للفريق.
وأعلن سلوت رفضه حضور حفل استلام الجائزة، تضامنًا مع ضحايا حادث موكب التتويج الذي وقع خلال احتفالات لاعبي ليفربول مع الجماهير يوم الإثنين الماضي (طالع التفاصيل من هنا).
وقال سلوت في تصريحات لموقع ليفربول الرسمي: “كما تعلمون، وقع حادث مروع في ليفربول، أسفر عن إصابة العشرات من الرجال والنساء والأطفال الذين حضروا موكبنا، ونتيجة لذلك، اضطررت إلى الانسحاب من الحدث تضامنًا مع جميع المتضررين”.
وأضاف: “هذا ليس قرارًا اتخذته باستخفاف، ولكنه قرار أشعر أنه صائب تمامًا نظرًا لخطورة الموقف، آمل أن أحظى بتفهمكم في هذا الصدد”.
وأردف: “أود أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة لأشكر مجتمع كرة القدم الأوسع، بما في ذلك رابطة ليفربول لكرة القدم نفسها، والدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، والعديد من الأندية التي ستمثلنا، على الدعم الذي تلقيناه خلال الأربع والعشرين ساعة الماضية”.
وأشار: “كرة القدم لعبة قائمة على التنافس، ويجب أن تكون كذلك دائمًا، وهي أيضًا مصدر رائع للرفقة، لا سيما في مثل هذه الأوقات”.
وواصل: “أود أيضًا أن أشيد بخدمات الطوارئ والسلطات الأخرى في ليفربول التي سارعت إلى التدخل فور وقوع الحادث”.
وأكمل سلوت: “إلى جانب المشجعين والمارة الذين ساعدوا بعضهم البعض في وقت الحاجة، أعتقد أن كل من شارك في أعقاب الحادث يستحق امتناننا جميعًا”.
وعن اختياره كأفضل مدرب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، أفاد: “أشعر بالتواضع لاختياري كأفضل مدرب في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، وأشكر اللجنة المختصة الممتاز لاختياري”.
واستطرد: “السبب الرئيسي وراء شعوري بالتواضع هو معرفتي بالمستوى العالي للغاية للمدربين في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز”.
وشدد: “فخور جدًا أيضًا بكوني عضوًا في رابطة مدربي الدوري، وبالتالي يشرفني حقًا الحصول على جائزة السير أليكس فيرجسون لأفضل مدرب في العام من رابطة مدربي الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز”.
وعلّق مدرب ليفربول: “إن تصويت زملائك المدربين أمر مميز للغاية، خاصة وأنني أعرف الجودة المذهلة لأولئك الذين فازوا بهذه الجائزة سابقًا”.

محمد صلاح لا يكتفي بالتسجيل أو التمريرات الحاسمة، بل يفرض وجوده بشكل يجعل مواجهته مرهقة على المستويين البدني والنفسي لخصومه.
المصري لاعب لا يمكن التنبؤ بتحركاته، والذي يظهر في اللحظة غير المتوقعة من الزاوية التي لا يتوقعها أحد.
وفي موسم جديد حافل، لم يكتفِ محمد صلاح بالحفاظ على مكانته في القمة، بل زاد من تألقه بعد فوزه بجائزة “ذا أثلتيك” لأفضل لاعب رجال لعام 2024، عقب تصدّره قائمة هدافي ليفربول في الدوري ومشاركته في جميع مباريات الموسم، ليؤكد أن بريقه لم يخفت رغم اقترابه من عامه الثالث والثلاثين.
وبينما يواصل رحلته مع ليفربول بعقدٍ يمتد حتى عام 2027، استعرضت صحيفة “ذا أثلتيك” آراء عدد من اللاعبين والمدربين الذين واجهوا صلاح أو لعبوا إلى جانبه، لتسليط الضوء على ما يجعل منه أحد أعظم المهاجمين في جيله.

اللمسة الأخيرة
عندما يمتلك محمد صلاح الكرة بالقرب من منطقة الجزاء، يبدأ الخطر الحقيقي، فقد سجّل 30 هدفًا خلال أول 38 مباراة من الموسم، بما في ذلك مباريات حاسمة كهدفه في اليوم الافتتاحي أمام إيبسويتش، وثنائيته أمام ساوثهامبتون في ختام الموسم، بالإضافة إلى أهدافه في صراع القمة أمام آرسنال.
وحتى في أسوأ حالاته، لا يتوقف صلاح عن التسجيل، ففي ديربي الميرسيسايد أمام إيفرتون، لمس الكرة داخل منطقة الجزاء مرة واحدة فقط، لكنها كانت كافية لهز الشباك.
ديفيد مويس، مدرب وست هام، مازح الصحفيين قائلًا: “ربما الحل الوحيد لإيقاف صلاح هو بناء جدار أمامه!”.
أما كالفين باسي، مدافع فولهام، فقال: “إنه أحد أفضل اللاعبين في العالم، وللتعامل معه تحتاج إلى أن تكون في قمة تركيزك، يجب أن تراقبه طوال الوقت وتحاول إخراجه من حالته”.
وقد كان فولهام من الفرق القليلة التي لم تتلقَ أهدافًا من صلاح هذا الموسم، إلى جانب كريستال بالاس ونوتينهام فورست.

محمد ناجي جدو، زميل صلاح السابق في منتخب مصر، استعاد بداياته، قائلًا: “عندما كان في المقاولون، كان يسجّل هدفين من كل خمس فرص، لم أكن أتوقع أن يتحول إلى هذا الهداف المرعب”.
أما الحارس اللاتفي أندريس فانينز، الذي واجه صلاح ست مرات في الدوري السويسري، فقال: “كنت أرجو دائمًا قبل المباريات ألا يشارك، طريقته في التسديد غير متوقعة، وكان يطلق الكرات من زوايا مستحيلة، شعرت بالخوف في كل مرة اقترب فيها من مرماي”.
وقال كيبا أريزابالاجا، حارس تشيلسي المُعار إلى بورنموث: “تعرف من هو، لكن كل شيء يحدث بسرعة كبيرة، تحتاج إلى ردة فعل خارقة وإلا ستجد الكرة في الشباك”.
أنطونيو روديجر، زميله السابق في روما، ومدافع ريال مدريد الحالي أشار إلى تطوره الكبير: “في إيطاليا كان يميل إلى المراوغة أكثر، أما الآن فأصبح أكثر نضجًا، يذهب مباشرة نحو المرمى، يسدد أو يصنع، ويُنهي الهجمة دائمًا”.
صلاح لم يكتفِ بالموهبة فقط، بل عمل على تطوير نفسه، إذ اعتاد التدريب في حديقة منزله على التسديد والإنهاء، كما استخدم تمارين التنفس للمحافظة على هدوئه أمام المرمى.
النتيجة؟ 185 هدفًا في الدوري الإنجليزي حتى الآن، ويبدو أنه يضع نُصب عينيه الوصول إلى رقم هاري كين (213 هدفًا) قبل نهاية عقده الحالي مع ليفربول.
واختصر ليام كوبر، مدافع ليدز، هذه الفكرة، قائلًا: “اللاعبون الكبار لا يحتاجون سوى فرصة واحدة فقط… وصلاح من هذا النوع”.

التمركز
واحدة من أهم مزايا صلاح تكمن في تحركاته المستمرة وقدرته على إيجاد المساحة في الأماكن الأخطر.
ميلوس كيركيز، مدافع بورنموث، الذي يُعد أحد أهداف ليفربول الصيفية، قال: “إنه أفضل لاعب في العالم حاليًا، تشعر دائمًا أنه يظهر فجأة في أخطر مكان في الملعب”.
وفي مباراتي ليفربول وفولهام، سدّد صلاح سبع مرات وغيّر مركزه بين الجناح والعمق، مما أربك منظومة الدفاع بشكل كامل.
وقال جدو عن أول مواجهة جمعته بصلاح عام 2010 عندما كان في الأهلي وكان صلاح في المقاولون العرب: “لم أكن قد سمعت عنه من قبل، لكنه أربكنا تمامًا بسرعته، وكان يتحرك خلف المدافعين كأنه يختفي ويظهر فجأة”.
أما سيزار أزبيليكويتا، زميله السابق لفترة قصيرة في تشيلسي، فقال: “هو أصعب لاعب واجهته في مسيرتي، مشكلته أنه ذكي للغاية، ولا توجد طريقة واحدة لإيقافه، لأنه يغيّر أسلوبه في كل مرة”.
بيرفس إستوبينان، ظهير برايتون، قال: “تشعر بأنك دائمًا غير متوازن أمامه، لا تعرف من أين سيأتي ولا متى سيتحرك”.
وقال كالفين باسي إن مواجهة صلاح تتطلب قرارات دقيقة جدًا: “هل تضغط عليه؟ أم تنتظر؟ المسافات مهمة للغاية، ويجب أن تكون ذكيًا جدًا وتعرف متى تتحرك”.
أما لوك توماس، مدافع ليستر، الذي تألق أمام صلاح في مباراة عام 2021، فقال: “أكثر ما يُزعجك فيه أنه يظهر فجأة، وفي المرتدات من المستحيل اللحاق به، والأهم من ذلك أنه يعرف كيف يتصرّف في كل مرة”.
وأضاف مبتسمًا: “هو يخالف القواعد قليلًا بعدم عودته للدفاع، لكن يمكن تفهّم ذلك”.
الهدوء والشخصية
أمر آخر يلفت انتباه الخصوم هو هدوء صلاح في الملعب، كيركيز وصفه بأنه “هادئ للغاية”، بينما قال كوبر: “ليس من النوع الذي يصرخ أو يتحدث كثيرًا، لكنه يقود الفريق بطريقة مختلفة… بأدائه”.
وقال أنطوني روبنسون، مدافع فولهام، إن صلاح فاجأه خلال إحدى المباريات: “سألني عن عمري خلال المباراة، وبعدها قال لي إنني كنت أفضل لاعب في اللقاء، وطلب مني الاستمرار بهذا المستوى، هذه الكلمات لا تُنسى بالنسبة لنا نحن اللاعبين الشباب”.
القوة البدنية
رغم أن بنيته لا توحي بذلك، إلا أن القوة البدنية تُعد من أبرز نقاط قوّة صلاح.
ليام كوبر قال: “فوجئت بقوته. عندما يحمي الكرة بجسده، من شبه المستحيل أن تستخلصها منه”.
وأضاف كيركيز: “عندما يستخدم جسده، لا يمكن التعامل معه تقريبًا”.
صلاح أدرك منذ بداياته في تشيلسي أنه بحاجة إلى تطوير هذا الجانب، وبعد انتقاله إلى إيطاليا، التزم ببرنامج بدني صارم جعله من أقوى لاعبي الدوري الإنجليزي.
وفي ليفربول، اعتاد التدرب منفردًا قبل الحصص الجماعية، ويُعد نموذجًا يحتذى به في الانضباط البدني.
كما أن منزله يحتوي على صالتين رياضيتين كاملتين، ويواصل تدريباته حتى في العطلات.
وقال جدو: “أصبح أقوى بكثير، دون أن يفقد خفته، استطاع أن يحقق توازنًا بين القوة والمرونة”.
أما مدربه الحالي في ليفربول، آرني سلوت، فأشاد بانضباطه منذ أول يوم في التدريبات، قائلًا: “صلاح يُجيد التوازن بين الراحة والتدريب، وبدنيًا هو في مستوى مذهل”.
واختتم كوبر قائلًا: “صلاح لا ينال التقدير الكافي، خاصة بالنظر إلى محافظته على مستواه العالي حتى في شهر رمضان، وهذا يعكس مدى التزامه وإخلاصه”.
نجم لا يعرف التراجع
ما يميز محمد صلاح ليس فقط ما قدمه، بل الاستمرارية التي يحافظ بها على هذا المستوى المرتفع، فبينما يعاني كثير من اللاعبين من التراجع مع التقدّم في السن، يبدو أن صلاح يتعامل مع العمر وكأنه رقم لا يعني شيئًا.
التزامه في التدريبات، ووعيه البدني، وتطوره الذهني، كلها عوامل تجعل من المنطقي أن يواصل كتابة التاريخ في المواسم المقبلة.
ومع تبقّي عامين على عقده الحالي مع ليفربول، فإن احتمالات تحطيمه لمزيد من الأرقام تبدو واقعية تمامًا، وإذا كان خصومه يرونه “كابوسًا”، فإن الجماهير تراه حلمًا يتحقق أسبوعًا بعد آخر.

Ipswich Town have shown in their last two Premier League outings that there’s plenty of fight in their camp, with an unexpected home win against Chelsea being followed up with a battling 2-2 draw away at Fulham.
That draw at Craven Cottage might well have been all three points on another day if Leif Davis hadn’t clattered into Raul Jimenez for the home side’s equaliser, but a share of the spoils was still a positive result for Kieran McKenna’s men to take back to Suffolk come full-time.
Yet, McKenna and Co won’t be resting on their laurels as they do find themselves submerged in the bottom three still on goal difference, meaning this month’s busy transfer window could come in handy in boosting the underdogs’ chances of survival.

Whilst this could look like Ipswich are preparing for the worst regarding Delap’s fate, Jesus’ arrival would make sense as they aim to boost McKenna’s options up top, away from George Hirst and Ali Al-Hamadi already at Portman Road.
What Jesus could offer Ipswich
With reports linking the Tractor Boys with a move for Liverpool’s exciting young winger Ben Doak alongside the expensive South American, this could be a duo made in heaven as far as McKenna is concerned.
Indeed, Doak has set the Championship alight so far this season on loan from Liverpool, with two goals and six assists standing out from his league numbers to date at Middlesbrough, alongside his ability to twist and turn defences with slaloming solo surges up the pitch.
Capable of playing down either wing, McKenna might well believe the Scotsman could become his new Omari Hutchinson if he can get his hands on him, having managed to get ten goals and six assists out of the ex-Chelsea man down a division before letting him loose on the Premier League.

Whilst Doak would undoubtedly boost the Tractor Boys in midfield, with Wes Burns the only recognised option down the right owing to injuries, Jesus would also come in and give McKenna another option he could fall back on if Delap is having a rare off-day with some impressive numbers, notably at Shabab Al-Ahli.
Football journalist Zach Lowy even described the Brazilian’s heroics as “incredible” across 2024, with his rich vain of form in front of goal playing out in the Middle East seeing him win an international call-up.
Both players entering the building this January could well give McKenna the depth he craves in attack, and would make the Tractor Boys even more of a threatening prospect going forward to try and surprise more teams in their ongoing bid to beat the drop. The thought of the two linking up in attack should also be a salivating prospect for the masses at Portman Road.

Whilst it would be risky to fork out £30m on an unknown entity in the English game, Ipswich never looked back after splashing £20m on Delap who had never cut his teeth in the Premier League prior, with the hope this wild buy – alongside the added energy of Doak – can help the Suffolk side survive against all the odds.

Since his return to the starting eleven, Arsenal have rediscovered their goalscoring mojo, with Odegaard putting in a truly exceptional display against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, being the “driving force” behind their 5-1 victory.
It is little surprise that, in the event Odegaard is forced to sit out through injury again, Arteta wishes to acquire a quality stand-in for the ex-Real Madrid man.
Reports have suggested that Arteta believes Arda Guler could complement Odegaard at Arsenal, with the Real playmaker starring at Euro 2024 for Turkey but finding his chances limited at the Bernabeu right now. Guler could leave Real on loan in January, so this may well be one to watch in the build up to next month.
Meanwhile, other reports believe that Arsenal could mimic Odegaard’s signing by capturing Guler in the winter, with the 19-year-old finding himself in a very similar situation to the Scandinavian when he was stuck on the fringes of Real’s first team.
While the ex-Fenerbahce sensation comes as a very prudent option for Arteta, there are other La Liga stars who are viewed by Emirates Stadium chiefs in a similar light.
Arsenal prepared to bid for Las Palmas "standout" Alberto Moleiro
Indeed, Spanish media now claim that Las Palmas attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro is on their radar ahead of 2025.
The 21-year-old, who’s racked up four goals in 15 La Liga outings so far, primarily plays on the left-wing but can also slot into Odegaard’s position – as he’s done on three occasions this term.
Arsenal are apparently prepared to bid for Moleiro, who is rumoured to command a price tag of just £17 million, has been a “standout” performer for the Canary Islanders as Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal also take an interest in the Spanish Under-21 international.
Moleiro’s potential signing is seen as a “strategic” move to ease their dependence on Odegaard, with the starlet lauded for possessing pace, vision, creativity, football IQ and a silky touch to his all-round game (Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig).
At below £20 million, there is every reason to believe he could be an ideal alternative to Odegaard, but the competition from Saudi Arabia will be a major obstacle in the way.
The last 20 years have not been particularly prosperous for Tottenham Hotspur in a trophy sense, but their fans have been blessed with some of the best footballers in the Premier League.
The likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min became one of the most dangerous attacking duos in the league’s history, while the eternally underrated Mousa Dembélé bossed midfield up and down the country, and the defensive partnership of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld looked unbeatable at times.
However, when it comes to out-and-out star power and the ability to get fans off their feet at any moment, one Spurs star stands above all others in the last 15 years: Gareth Bale.
So, when another up-and-coming attacker was compared to him in late 2013, there was understandable excitement, although to say that comparison has since been proven wrong would be a colossal understatement.

In May 2007, Spurs paid around £10m for an incredibly exciting 17-year-old by the name of Bale, who was still primarily seen as a full-back at the time.
The Cardiff-born teenager made a decent start to life with the Lilywhites, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 12 winless appearances, but a torn ankle ligament put an end to his season in December, and when he returned, things weren’t so easy.
The goal involvements dried up, and it took until his 25th appearance for him to be on the winning side, which had led to some in the game, including Alex Ferguson, labelling him a bad luck charm.

Fortunately, things did start to improve for the 6 foot 1 magician, and following a decision from Harry Redknapp to move him to the wing, he took off.

However, it was in his final campaign, in 12/13, that he cemented himself as a world-class talent.
In just 44 appearances that season, the Lilywhites’ talisman scored 26 goals and provided ten assists, meaning he averaged a goal involvement every 1.22 games, which helps to explain why Real Madrid paid a world record £85m for his services that August.
Bale was undoubtedly one of the best Tottenham players of the 21st century, so when an exciting youngster was compared to him just a couple of months after he left, there was more than a little bit of excitement.
The Spurs ace who was the next Bale
So, to get straight to the point, the player in question is former England international Andros Townsend.

The 33-year-old was a part of Tottenham’s academy system, and after four years of sporadic appearances and loan moves between 2009 and 2013, he was finally given a proper chance to impress in the first team and, to begin with, things looked incredibly promising.
For example, it was around this time that Roy Hodgson handed the then-22-year-old his first two senior England caps, and then, after a particularly impressive showing away to Aston Villa that included a goal from the winger, Spurs star Vertonghen made the comparison to the Welsh superstar, simply saying “Andros can be our new Gareth Bale.”
Now, while the centre-back might have been trying to encourage his teammate, all he did was hand him an impossible task, as over the following seasons, it became increasingly clear that the “fearless” Leytonstone-born star, as dubbed by former manager Andre Villas-Boas, would never reach that level.
In fact, it didn’t take long before he fell out of the starting lineup, and by the time he was sold to Newcastle United for £12m in January 2016, he had produced just 24 goal involvements for the club in 93 appearances.
The next nine years saw the 13-capped international become a regular starter for Crystal Palace and Everton before making a move to Luton Town as a free agent last season, where his four goal involvements in 27 league games were not enough to prevent the team from being relegated.
However, instead of going down with the Hatters and fighting to get back to the Premier League, Townsend made the surprise decision to join Turkish side Antalyaspor.
